# Cartoon material experiment

October 23, 2026. Built-in Codex image generation/editing; exact model identifier not exposed. One attempt per listed instruction. Fictional subjects.

Both edits start independently from the original flat anchor. Neither edit starts from the other. Nominal flat output has shading; clay changes cuffs, pocket and prop geometry. These are material studies, not exact character approval or a provider benchmark.

## cartoon-flat

Create an original single cartoon character for a controlled style comparison: one friendly capybara gardener standing upright in a clear full-body three-quarter view, facing slightly toward viewer left, wearing simple olive-green bib overalls with exactly two round ochre buttons, holding one small red watering can in its front paws at belly height, the spout points viewer-left. Rounded rectangular muzzle, tiny rounded ears, two simple dark eyes, brown fur, no hat, no shoes, no other characters or props. Flat 2D editorial cartoon: crisp dark-brown uniform outlines, large solid color areas, restrained palette, no gradients, no hatching, no 3D rendering. Warm cream plain background with a tiny flat oval ground shadow. Character centered with generous space around its silhouette. Horizontal 16:9 canvas. No text, logos, watermarks or panels. Original character, not based on a named franchise.

## cartoon-paper

Edit the uploaded capybara gardener into a different visual material while keeping its full-body three-quarter pose, direction, proportions, friendly expression, olive bib overalls with exactly two ochre buttons and one red watering can pointing viewer-left. Preserve the placement of its paws, feet, muzzle and props as closely as possible. Same cream background and horizontal framing. Do not add text, objects, costumes, panels or logos. Render it as a photographed layered cut-paper illustration: broad hand-cut matte colored-paper pieces, visible paper fibers, shallow overlapping layers and small contact shadows. Replace drawn outlines with cut edges. Keep the silhouette readable and the material genuinely papery, not glossy plastic.

## cartoon-clay

Edit the uploaded capybara gardener into a different visual material while keeping its full-body three-quarter pose, direction, proportions, friendly expression, olive bib overalls with exactly two ochre buttons and one red watering can pointing viewer-left. Preserve the placement of its paws, feet, muzzle and props as closely as possible. Same cream background and horizontal framing. Do not add text, objects, costumes, panels or logos. Render it as a small handmade clay animation puppet: rounded sculpted volume, subtle thumbprint texture, matte clay surfaces, soft studio light, shallow physical ground shadow. Remove ink outlines. Keep simple cartoon facial features rather than adding realistic fur or extra anatomy.
